Chicago Weekend and Last Day of School

Andy and I took the kids to Chicago on Saturday for the weekend.  Our first order of business was the White Sox/Padres game.  Drew and Kayley got free White Sox gloves when they went through the gate, which made their day.  Drew did great at the game.  Kayley nearly overheated (if you went by what she was saying anyway) and Ryan just wanted to read books and eat M&Ms.  I joke about Kayley, but it was pretty hot at the game and our seats were in the sun.  About halfway through the game, we moved to seats that were in the shade and everyone seemed a lot more comfortable.  The White Sox lost, but we still had fun watching the game (or reading books and eating M&Ms if you were Ryan).

After the game, we went out to dinner and then went to our hotel where the kids swam and swam and swam.  Ryan loved the water so much that he would have mini tantrums whenever Andy brought him out of the water!

We went to the Shedd Aquarium on Sunday morning.  It was our first time and we had a great time.  We saw jelly fish, penguins, sharks, dolphins, whales, a sea lion, stingrays, etc.  We also saw a 4D quick movie about dinosaurs.

Ryan is not going to the bathroom, he
is squatting to get a better look.  :-)

Drew loved the sharks

Kayley did not love the sharks.  She
kept looking over her shoulder to
see if one was going to get her.

all done with the Shedd.
We left downtown Chicago around lunchtime and headed to the outlet mall where we picked up a few things for the kids.  I am pretty sure this was the highlight of the trip for Andy!

Monday was Kayley's last day of Kindergarten and Drew's last day of 1st Grade.  Bittersweet for me.  I am very proud of how well they both did, but I feel like they are growing up too quickly!
