Ollie the Owl

As I sat down to write this blog post, I realized we have had a boring week if I am going to write about Ollie the Owl!  Drew's Kindergarten class has been passing Ollie around to each kid throughout the year.  This week has been Drew's week and we are taking pictures of Drew and Ollie to document for their book.  So, what have we been up to with Ollie?  Not much!

Ollie rode with us

Ollie enjoyed some Italian food at Avanti's

And I couldn't resist a few pictures of big boy Ryan who has TWO teeth now!

9 months!!

It has been a busy time at our house.  Last weekend, I went to New Smyrna Beach, Florida with two of my good friends while Andy stayed home with the kids.  It was a short trip, but a GREAT time!  We stayed at my friend's parent's condo and we may have invited ourselves back next year!  For those of you who know me well, you will be shocked to hear that I tried mahi mahi and alligator!  I was very adventurous!  They both tasted a little like chicken to me.  I also tried (and loved) cinnamon whiskey.  I told Andy we need to buy some of that!

Don't feel too bad for Andy watching the kids while I had fun in Florida.  I got back on Sunday night and he left for Phoenix on Wednesday for a boys trip with two of his brothers.  He doesn't come home until tomorrow afternoon.  They love baseball and have a lot of fun going to all of the spring training games.  They are staying with my dad while my mom decided to fly here to see the kids.

And I am so thankful she decided to come visit!  Drew got the flu on Friday and has been in need of a lot of attention all weekend.  Poor little guy is still as sick as he was on Friday.  No kid likes to be sick, but some handle it better than others.  Drew is not one who handles it well.  (Mom and I might have joked that it is because he is male!)  He demands a lot of care when he is sick so we have been pretty busy.  I am not sure how I would have done it with a 9 month old and him!  Kayley is pretty independent and she has been fine, but Ryan is a different story.  He is into EVERYTHING so we have to watch him pretty closely.

Speaking of Ryan, he had his 9 month pictures yesterday.  He started out with his serious face when we got there, but decided playing peek-a-boo with me was pretty funny and started smiling.  Here of some of his good ones and some of the ones that were funny.

More Fun with Friends

We had a very full weekend involving a lot of friend time!  Yesterday, Kayley and Drew each had a friend over from about 11am until 5pm.  They had a lot of fun, but at one point Andy looked at me and told me he was definitely good with just three kids!  Ha!  Our kids were really excited to have friends over so they were extra loud yesterday.  Kayley had a little trouble sharing her toys towards the end of the playdate though.  We had to have a little chat about that!

After breakfast today, the kids and I drove to Davenport to meet up with some of my law school friends and their kids.  Drew and Kayley love playing with Amelia and Ryan, Dylan and Quinn (and Mel's baby when he or she arrives) are going to be buddies when they get a little older!  The older kids had a great time and managed to get soaking wet with a water hose while they were outside playing in the snow.  :-)  Dylan and Quinn are cute as can be.  I don't think I have ever met a more chill baby than Dylan.  And Quinn may be the tallest 2 month old I have ever met!
